The United States Government has given another contract to Simba Chain which is a startup supported by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
US Military Authorities Fond Of Simba Chain
Simba Chain, the favourite startup of the US military authorities, would now develop a blockchain project for the US Department of Defense (DoD).The DoD rewarded Simba Chain with $200,000 contract so that it could build a proof-of-concept for a blockchain-based system which would be used for securing the management of authority’s research and development documentation.
The contract is a Phase I of that contract which comes under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
On May 12, 2020, while making the announcement, DARPA-backed startup stated that as per the contract the would create Authenticity Ledger for Auditable Military Enclaved Data Access (ALAMEDA), a blockchain project, which has been scheduled to get launched on June 01.
The startup has also mentioned that by September 30, 2020, DoD might start using it.
Phase I Contract Will Make Way For Phase II
Simba Chain also notified that if the Phase I of SBIR contract gets successful then it would act as a base for a potential $1 million SBIR Phase II contract. The blockchain platform ALMEDA would manage the authenticity and origin of around 4.5 million documents which belong to 4,000 users for the DoD’s Defense Technical Information Center.
The CEO of Simba Chain, Joel Neidig, while discussing the new project, said, “It seeks to eliminate third-party bad actors, and otherwise allow secure direct connections between trusted sources”.
Apart from working for the US military authorities, the startup also supports many blockchains like Ethereum, Quorum of JPMorgan, RSK which is powered by Bitcoin, Stellar and Hyperleder of IBM.
Simba Chain has also occupied the Azure cloud platform of Microsoft.
Simba Chain was founded in the year 2017 and since then it has been rewarded by the US government for multiple times.
While it was being established, DARPA invested in the firm so that it builds a platform which is not only secured but also unhackable, for the US military.
